Dexter Green Day is a special one day event where local horticulture groups come together and make their plants available for public purchase. This year’s sale is this Saturday May 19, 2018, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.
Dexter Garden Club will be featuring perennials and native plants for sale in downtown Dexter’s Monument Park along with Creekside Intermediate School who will be selling vegetable plants. Just down the road at Dexter Mill, you’ll find the Michigan Dahlia Association selling their flowers. Further out on Mast Rd, St Joseph’s church is holding their plant sale too.
The Dexter Garden Club sponsors and supports a number of community programs such as the Green Thumbs program for preschoolers, public garden planting and maintenance in downtown Dexter, grants and scholarships, educational trips and educational speakers. The annual plant sale funds their budget for these projects throughout the year.
The Dexter Garden Club invites you to become a member. The Club meets the second Tuesday of every month from September to June (7 to 9 pm) at the Dexter Senior Center. Please note that the June meeting has been moved and will take place on June 5th at the Dexter Public Library.
