Girls Cross Country: Dreadnaughts finish third at SEC Jamboree 2 (see WLD photo gallery)

The Pioneer girls’ cross country team grabbed three of the top seven spots to grab the overall top spot in Wednesday’s SEC Jamboree at Pioneer High School on a perfect day to go for a run.

The Pioneers finished with 37 points while Saline ran second with 43 and Dexter crossed third with 75. Skyline was fourth (90) and Huron fifth (137) in the seven-team race.

Senior Emily Cooper led the Pioneers with her first-place time of 18 minutes, 43 seconds. Junior Natalie Mello ran fourth in 19:23.8 while junior Sylvia Sanok Dufallo was seventh in 19:35.6.
