Skyline hosted Dexter in a battle of programs that have competed with the elite in the state over the years, including the D-2 defending state champion Eagles. Both teams had strong performances all night long in a spirited and competitive SEC dual-meet.
But in the end, the short-handed Dreadnaughts just didn’t have enough depth to compete with talented and deep Skyline Eagles who flew off – or is that swam off – with a 131-64 win over the Dreadnaughts. It was only Dexter’s second loss of the season while Skyline’s only loss so far as been to defending D-1 state champion Pioneer.

First, the relays.
Skyline won the opening medley relay as the team of Chris Kurniawan, Lewis McCammon, Connor Zillich and Andi Xi won in 1:45.62. The Eagles team of Ian Dyer, Soren Nielsen, Luke Jordan and Zander Barr took second in 1:47.90. Dexter’s team of Lucas Greatorex, Chance McArtor, Dylan O’Connor, and Matthew Resende was third in 1:48.00.
In the 200 free relay, the Skyline team of Ben Edlund, Sawyer Thompson, Owen McKelvey, and Lucas Caswell took first in 1:33.66. The Dexter team of Lucas Greatorex, Eric Smaby, Steven Merz and Matthew Resende touched second in 1:34.33.
In the 400 free relay, the Skyline team of Owen McKelvey, Lucas Caswell, Owen Torres, and Jack Staunton finished first in 3:23.59. The Dexter team of Lucas Greatorex, Dylan O’Connor, Eric Smaby, and Matthew Resende was second in 3:31.61.
