Ovarian cancer is the most lethal gynecologic cancer and every 23 minutes a person is diagnosed with this cancer in the U.S. We want people to learn the importance of knowing one’s ovarian cancer risk and taking preventative action.

Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MIOCA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2011 by Ann Arbor resident Pam Dahlmann after the loss of her mother and maternal grandmother to ovarian cancer. “This horrible disease took my mom and my grandma from me. I can’t bring them back, but I can work with others to raise awareness and educate others. The Time to Teal race is a celebration of the moms, daughters, all the extraordinary women in our lives, and a special day to remember those important women that we have lost,” stated Ms. Dahlmann.

MIOCA strives to save lives by promoting the early detection of ovarian cancer and improved treatment outcomes. MIOCA raises awareness of ovarian cancer, provides resources and support to survivors and their families, advocates both locally and federally, educates Michigan communities, and funds innovative ovarian cancer research.
