Creative Washtenaw to Administer $500,000 Grant Program

WASHTENAW COUNTY – Creative Washtenaw, on behalf of the City of Ann Arbor, announces the Arts + Creative Industries grant program made possible through an American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) allocation.

Per City Council resolution #R-22-096, $500,000 of the city’s ARPA funds are available to assist in the recovery of Ann Arbor artists, creative workers, creative businesses and culture bearers impacted by the pandemic. The City of Ann Arbor approved a sub-recipient agreement with Creative Washtenaw to design, administer and oversee the grant program.

The $500,000 is allocated as follows:

  • $280,000 – aid in the recovery and sustainability of Ann Arbor’s artists, creative workers, organizations and businesses.
  • $180,000 – support arts and creative initiatives that provide programs or services to youth, Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) and other marginalized populations.
  • $40,000 – project management fee for Creative Washtenaw to administer funds.

Grant applications open on a rolling basis beginning Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 12 p.m. As grants are approved, funds will be allocated until the funds run out for each program.

Applications are to be reviewed and approved by a panel of five to seven – three to five appointed and two citizens at large applicants selected by Creative Washtenaw. Grant applicants may not apply to serve on the review panel. Those interested in applying to be a review panelist may apply here from now through June 22, 2023.
