Basketball: Upcoming District matchups for boys and girls hoop   

March is right around the corner and while the temperatures might not be at an all-time high outside, it’s certainly the hot time of year for basketball – especially college and high school.

This year should be a very competitive time for local high school basketball teams as the postseason begins next week. Here is a look at the pairings for the local teams in boys and girls basketball.

BOYS

Ann Arbor Huron will play host to District 13 action.

The bracket kicks off with Dexter playing Jackson Northwest at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26 at Huron HS. In the other first-round game, Skyline will play Jackson at 7 p.m., following the first game.

Huron and Pioneer both drew opening-round byes.

Huron will play the winner of Dexter-Jackson Northwest at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28. Pioneer faces the winner of Skyline-Jackson at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28. Both games are at Huron HS.

The finals will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 1.

The winner of District 13 will play in the Northville Regional with a game on March 5 against the winner of District 14 (hosted by South Lyon East).

GIRLS

Dexter is hosting Division 1 District 13. The teams are Dexter, Skyline, Pioneer, Huron, and Jackson. Games will be played March 4-8. The schedule has not been released. Regionals will be hosted by Westland John Glenn. District 13 will face District 14 (Salem) in a regional first-round matchup.
