Boys Basketball: Dreads ride three-game winning streak into game with Chelsea

The Dexter boys’ basketball team comes riding into its showdown with rival Chelsea with a three-game winning streak after convincing wins over Bedford, Adrian and Tecumseh.

After a tough start against strong competition, the Dreadnaughts are now 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the SEC White Division heading into the game with the Bulldogs.

Dexter headed into the Christmas break with a 59-47 win over a solid Bedford club. Senior Drew Bishop led the Dreads with 21 points. Senior Brady Rosen scored 12 and senior Drake Doyle had seven points.

Junior Josh Paquin and senior Zach Condron each scored six and sophomore Marco Lucchesi scored five.

The Dreads kept it rolling after the holidays with a 54-34 win over host Adrian.
It was another strong team effort.

Rosen recorded a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Bishop had a huge night with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 steals. Junior Rory Tell added six points while Lucchesi scored five and Condron and Paquin four each.

On Monday, Dexter hosted Tecumseh in a makeup game and scored another big win, 63-40 over the Indians.

Dexter used a balanced scoring attack to stick this game in the win column. Bishop and Lucchesi each scored 12. Rosen scored 11, Condron had 10 and Avery scored nine. Caden Doll had six points and Tell added three in the win.
