The Dexter girls’ basketball team fell behind 22-15 at halftime of its game Tuesday night with visiting Saline. That’s the bad news. The good news is there was a second half.
The Dreadnaughts stormed back with an impressive fourth quarter, outscoring the Hornets 16-7 in the final period, to pull off a 43-39 victory in a matchup of two of the better teams in the SEC Red Division.
Dexter led 10-8 after one quarter before Saline ran it up with a 14-5 second quarter advantage. The Dreadnaughts outscored the Hornets 12-10 in the third quarter before dominating the fourth.
Sydney Pnacek had a huge game for the home team. The senior made 7 of 13 shots including 3 of 5 three-pointers and finished with a team high 18 points. Oh yeah, she also had a team-best seven rebounds, a block and an assist.
Brianna Rodriguez also had a big game for Dexter. She hit two triples in the game and finished with 13 points along with four steals, three assists and two rebounds. Chloe Perry and Alena Blumberg each scored four.
