EMU hosts 43rd Undergraduate Symposium March 31

By Isabel Stratos-Bernal / EMU

YPSILANTI – The Undergraduate Symposium will showcase student research from various disciplines, including the fine arts, humanities, physical sciences, and social sciences. The public event will begin at 9 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. on Friday, March 31, at the EMU Student Center, located at 900 Oakwood St. in Ypsilanti.

Attendees can expect to see research about genetics and mutations, dynamometer engines, different cultural practices, molecular mechanisms, marketing strategies, and more. The Symposium allows students to share their cutting-edge research, study abroad experiences, and creative displays with the community.

“I am honored that this is my third time presenting at the symposium,” says Olivia Robinson, EMU student and upcoming symposium presenter. “This year, I look forward to learning about new innovations and ideas from my peers’ presentations, posters, performances, and exhibits. Their work shows incredible research and effort, and I am always motivated and inspired as I participate alongside my fellow Eagles.”

These projects embody a system of integrating peer mentoring, innovating research, and the benefits of honing communication skills in front of a large audience while motivating students in their professional and intellectual growth.

This event is free and open to the public. EMU students who attend the event to support their peers are eligible for Learning Beyond the Classroom credit.

At the time of this release, masks are optional on EMU’s campus.
